Drop any image to analyze its size, dimensions and format, and see how much you'd save by converting to WebP — computed live in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.
📐 Right-size first
The biggest win is serving images at the size they're displayed. A 4000px photo shown in a 400px slot wastes ~99% of its bytes.
🖼️ Modern formats
WebP is ~25–35% smaller than JPEG; AVIF can be 50% smaller. Both are widely supported in 2026 — use <picture> with fallbacks.
⚡ Lazy-load
Add loading="lazy" to below-the-fold images so they don't block your LCP and initial load.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is my image uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is read with the browser's FileReader and re-encoded on a local canvas. It never leaves your device and nothing is stored.
How accurate is the WebP estimate?
It's a real WebP encode at quality 80 done by your browser, so the size shown is exactly what your browser would produce. AVIF typically saves even more but isn't encodable in all browsers yet.
